Did you see the photos circling the internet of 80-year-old Martha Stewart absolutely glowing? We hope we weren’t the only ones trying to figure out how we could age that gracefully. It’s normal if the thought of aging is a bit overwhelming to you. Media coverage focusing on looks can be intimidating and daunting.

Don’t stress too much over it! Just like fine wine, we believe that some things (read: you) get better with age. With support of treatments, good skincare, and some amazing doctors (we happen to know a couple), you too can have the internet talking about how great you look at every age.

Not sure where to start? We’ve laid out four key areas to consider for treatment that will have you looking young and feeling your best:

Eyes

The skin around the eye is very thin and delicate. It’s one of the first places to change as you age. As we age, we experience decreased levels of collagen protein in our face. For the eye area, this means we start to notice more fine lines and wrinkles in this area – aka Crow’s feet. Neuromodulators (Botox or Dysport) can be used as a preventative treatment around the eye. By reducing how effectively facial muscles contract, we can reduce how strongly they pull on the skin, which lessens and prevents lines and wrinkles.

Lips

It’s no secret that people are opting for plumper, more voluminous lips. Lip fillers can give you the full and hydrated-looking lips you’ve been hoping for. In addition, they also have been known to reduce the appearance of fine lines caused by repeated facial expressions like smiling, laughing, and frowning. Stay laughing without sacrificing your mouth to the effects of aging.

Brow lines or “elevens”

Elevens or brow line wrinkles have a few causes. Over time, many are brought on by the various facial expressions you make throughout your day. They can also be triggered by genetics, sleeping on your side, and sun exposure. Botox or other neuromodulating treatments, like Dysport, are usually the main treatment for these types of concerns as they stop facial muscles from contracting to make the lines more visible.

Cheeks

Reduced collagen production also affects the cheeks. As people age, they notice changes to their face that they describe as a hollow appearance, flat or “sunken” face. Fillers sculpt and add definition to cheekbones making them look fuller and more youthful. Wondering exactly how they work? The addition of filler to cheekbones gently pull the lower parts of the face upward to give the fuller effect.
