How Long Will It Take To See My Results?

Treatment timelines for neurotoxin, filler, chemical peel and Morpheus8

So you’re heading into holiday party season and want to make sure you’ve timed your injectable appointments just right. While some of our treatments offer immediate results, others take a bit to set in before you see your full results – like neurotoxin and filler treatments.

Get out your planner and pencil, we’re about to hand over all the details you need to sort yourself out for the year. Because if you’re investing in natural-looking enhancements to your beautiful face, you’ll want to make sure you have enough recovery time to put your best face forward!

Neurotoxin aka Botox and Dysport)

Book 2-4 weeks ahead of your event

While the actual injection usually takes less than 10 minutes, neurotoxin treatments work by limiting mobility in the muscles, so it takes a bit of time to show the full results. You’ll start to notice Botox starting to work anywhere between 7 to 14 days, with most of the total effect by the two-week mark. Dysport usually works a little faster so you may see results in the first few days.

In terms of side effects, people who receive neurotoxin injections rarely notice any. If you do experience any side effects, they are usually temporary and need no treatment at all. The most common side effects are very mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising around the injection area – all of which are less likely if you follow the before and after care instructions provided by your injector. Rarely, some people can get a mild headache that lasts a day or two that resolves on its own.

We’ll follow up two weeks after injections to make sure everything is going well, and we’re accessible by email if you have any questions. Neurotoxin effects usually last two to four months, depending where it’s placed, how active you are, and how quickly you genetically metabolize neurotoxins. In time you’ll learn when it feels right for you to come back for a top up. Continued treatments over time can increase the length of your effect and you may need fewer units.

Fillers

Book 4 weeks before your event

Adding volume, creating shape and smoothing lines are a few of the superpowers that come from filler. Because of the significant change to your face, they have higher recovery times than many of our other treatments. Filler absorbs water over the weeks following injection so we like to see you again at the two-week mark to ensure you are satisfied with your results and touch up any asymmetry if necessary.

With any injection there are some possible side effects, most of which are localized and short-lived. You may experience bruising, swelling, redness, and soreness. You may notice more pronounced features a few days after treatment due to swelling, which is why we recommend getting your filler treatment approximately two to four weeks before any major events. For an example of what the filler experience is like, check out our post on what to expect after your lip filler treatment.

The effect can last between six and 18 months, depending on where the filler was injected. Filler in areas with lots of movement, like the lips or areas around the mouth, tend not to last as long as areas that move less, like your cheekbones.

Chemical Peels

Book 1 week before your event

If a chemical peel is what you’re after to give your skin an extra dose of radiance and glow, you can schedule it almost anytime that works for you. Your peel experience will be fully customized to your skin, and we will always check in with you during the peel to ensure you’re comfortable and the strength is appropriate for your skin.

Although you’ll be sent home with post-treatment instructions and skincare, you normally won’t need to take any social downtime – unless you want to, in that case, we won’t tell!

If you have a big event coming up and are hoping to use a peel to put your best face forward, the optimal time to book your peel is one week ahead. We strongly recommend three or more peels a few weeks apart to uncover your best, freshest skin and get the most out of your treatment. For best results, you can take advantage of our peels package to set up a few treatments over a couple of months. Most people choose to get peels two or three times a year depending on their skin’s needs.

Morpheus8

- One-off treatment: Book 3 weeks before your event
-
Series of three treatments (
recommended!): Book 4-5 months before your event

If your skin concerns include sagging skin, wanting fewer wrinkles, and generally looking younger and fresher, Morpheus8 RF Microneedling could be on the books for your next appointment. Pairing radio frequency (RF) treatment with microneedles that target the subdermal layers of the skin offers a one-of-a-kind treatment to improve the quality of collagen your skin produces.

After three weeks, your results will appear in full but you will likely start noticing some visible results within a few days of treatment. Improvements will continue for up to three months of treatment and subsequent treatments will take your results even further!

Your appointment starts with an application of numbing cream for 45-60 minutes and ends with a cooling barrier cream to protect your face from irritation and discomfort.

You will likely have some redness following your treatment and will want to stay out of the sun, so plan for a cozy night in when it comes to the day of your Morpheus8 appointment. Redness generally disappears within the first day of your treatment or overnight. You will be provided with a post-treatment kit and instructions to make sure you are protecting your skin in the days to come.

Your treatment provider will go through a plan suited to your skin goals before treatment, but we typically recommend 3-4 treatments over time to restore your skin back to the youthful, smooth appearance you know and love.
