RF Microneedling: Morpheus8 at Park Medical Aesthetics in Toronto

Get to know Park’s newest treatment offering with Dr. Sophie

We take care of our skin in many ways. We cleanse, moisturize, apply sunscreen, and use face masks to try to rejuvenate tired skin. We spend money on countless new products with the hope that our skin will once again have the young and fresh appearance of our youth.

Applying topical skin products is a great way to keep our current skin healthy, but it is often not enough to achieve our desired appearance. Microneedling is emerging in popularity as a leading and minimally-invasive procedure that targets the skin on a deeper level resulting in glowy, smooth, youthful-appearing skin.

You know how much we love helping you reach your skin goals - so we’re very excited to announce that 2022 offerings at Park will include microneedling using InMode Morpheus8.

SO, WHAT IS MORPHEUS8?

Morpheus8 is a deep fractional, radiofrequency microneedling treatment that delivers exceptional skin, tissue and collagen remodelling to improve skin appearance and texture, and to reduce irregularities.

Microneedling involves using a matrix of micro pins that are injected into the skin to renew deeper layers of the skin. Morpheus8 specifically uses radiofrequency technology which acts to further remodel and rebuild collagen as compared to the effects of microneedling on its own. It’s an amazing tool to improve acne, reduce hyperpigmentation or scarring, tighten loose skin and improve skin tone and texture. Is there anything the Morpheus8 can’t do?!

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

Morpheus8 can be used on almost any area of the body. Most commonly, it’s used to target the face, neck, abdomen and buttocks. It can also be used on the thighs, arms, back. Some even use it to reduce sweating by targeting sweat glands in the axilla (aka the shoulder joint) and other areas.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY MORPHEUS8 TREATMENT?

Keeping your skin clean and healthy are the best ways to prepare for your Morpheus8 session. We recommend avoiding the use of microneedling on active rashes or rosacea. It is also advised to stay out of direct sunlight and to use regular sunscreen prior to your treatment.

If you are a Botox or filler patient, you’ll want to ensure you have a window between appointments and your Morpheus8 treatment. We recommend scheduling at least two weeks after Botox treatment and at least three weeks after any new filler.

Prior to your treatment, we will apply a topical numbing agent to reduce any pain or discomfort and treatment should be painless for most people. Everyone experiences pain slightly differently, so you may experience a bit of sensation. We’ll do our best to make sure you’re comfortable!

WHAT ABOUT POST-TREATMENT?

Post-treatment skincare is absolutely essential. You can expect some redness and irritation for one to two days after microneedling treatments. We recommend staying out of the sun to avoid exacerbating any redness. You can use our recovery balm or another antibiotic cream for the first one to three days to help promote healing of the micro injuries to the skin. Once the skin has healed, continue to keep your skin clean, moisturized and always remember to use your favourite sunscreen!

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Many patients will see amazing results after just one session with Morpheus8. However, for optimal results, we recommend a total of three to four sessions timed three to six weeks apart.

Following those group sessions, a maintenance session every six to 12 months is recommended to maintain the achieved results. This can be further discussed with your clinician during your first Morpheus8 appointment.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

Morpheus8 is an extremely safe treatment and no permanent problems have been reported. Some patients may experience redness, increased sensitivity and irritation or peeling of the skin in the first one to three days after a Morpheus8 treatment. Following the post-procedure instructions is important to ensure a quick resolution of these post-treatment symptoms.

WHO SHOULD AVOID MORPHEUS8?

Microneedling cannot be performed while pregnant or breastfeeding. Otherwise, treatments are safe and effective for all skin types, including darker skin.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Many patients will start to see some results after three to four days from a Morpheus8 treatment. Peak effects, including the most amazing glow, can be expected around the two to three week mark!

If you are considering doing a Morpheu8 treatment prior to an important event, we recommend booking at least two to three weeks prior to the event date.

I GET BOTOX. SHOULD I GET MICRONEEDLING AS WELL?

Microneedling treatments can target skin on a deeper level giving different results than Botox would. Neuromodulators, like Botox, weaken the muscles of the face, reducing how strongly the skin can move and wrinkle as you make facial expressions, which reduces the appearance of existing lines and wrinkles and prevents new ones from forming. They are not able to change the composition or quality of the skin, so while you may look more rested and your skin may look more ageless, neuromodulators can’t help with dullness, acne, rosacea, scarring, or hyperpigmentation.

Microneedling targets the entire area of skin on a deeper level, resulting in improvements in skin tone, texture and appearance. Pairing neuromodulators with microneedling is an amazing way to improve your skin’s health and appearance!

HOW MUCH DOES MORPHEUS8 COST?

Morpheus8 sessions at Park Medical Aesthetics will depend on the location of treatment. For those looking to target their face:

  • One session is $1,200

  • A three-pack is $3,000 (free neck treatment included!)

We strongly recommend doing three to four sessions, three to six weeks apart to uncover your best, freshest skin and get the absolute most out of the treatment, which is why we offer the three pack.

After that, we recommend a maintenance treatment every six to 12 months to continue to maintain your results.

As avid fans ourselves, we can guarantee this will be one of your new favourite treatments at Park! If you have any questions about the treatment or want to get started, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
